The President's Speech

At the beginning of 2007, I sincerely wish all members good health and successful businesses.

Last year, was a year of great achievements. We successfully sponsored the third conference of traditional medicine, with the attendance of 800 people. It was a great success. The passing of bill 50 secured a bright future for the advancement of Chinese medicine within Canada. This is the result of many generations of effort from all members. Together, let us create a bright future for the development of Chinese medicine.

Over the past year, it was extremely bitter one. On November 19, the Association had experienced a historically unprecedented turmoil, upheaval. Some people with ulterior motives who wanted more authority for themselves caused a "Cultural Revolution¡±, in order to go against Bill 50. Our Association was facing a very serious situation. At the same time, our fourth member of the Executive Committee was under difficult circumstances which hurt the association reputation badly. They immediately exposed the conspiracy against the disclosure of the truth and united the majority of members and won public support by securing the association's reputation, and preserve the unity of the association. The Association won against the so called Anti Legislation Union¡¯s conspiracy, and reestablishes the team, gradually became a formal association.
After the test of disputes this turmoil, it indicated that the executive committee of the Association is firmly united. Our members are mature and are able to tell right from wrong, closely unite around the committee. Association won against the Anti Legislation Union. We sincerely thank all those who have supported us. Your cares, your calls and your greetings gave us confidence, morale booster. Special thanks to Zhou, honorary chairman, Laidelin predecessors, your support and help are highly appreciated in this special period.
We adhere to the Association's stance in support of legislation. Bill 50 bill in a warm welcome to provincial governor on December 20 signed into law. This indicates that Chinese medicine with acupuncture in Ontario legal profession. The association will pay close attention to the future Authority in the formulation of specific policies and provisions for the legitimate from which will help our members get more benefit.

Association Executive Committee decided to continue to keep in touch with the provincial government and the Health Department to explain in detail the provisions of the bill, eliminate the doubts. Meanwhile, according to members of different backgrounds, Chinese medicine acupuncture OLI. organize training courses and the types of academic seminars for a period of two years. Hopefully, it will help members to meet criteria for membership for a smooth registration.

Here, I would like to say it is the best time for us to enjoy this wonderful time. So we had to share and further improve the association's rules and regulations.
