Call to Action Regarding the Implementation

After more than 20 years of much hard work, finally TCM Act 2006 (TCMA) was successfully passed at the end of 2006. It is a major milestone signaling that TCM & Acupuncture become a new regulated health profession in Ontario. It ensures that not only the public could obtain comprehensive, high quality,
safe & effective TCM & Acupuncture services but also TCM & Acupuncturepractitioners obtain the legal professional status in Ontario.

New Century International TCM and Technology Forum on Octobe
|

CSCMA will be hosting a New Century International TCM and Technology Forum on October 20, 2008. It will start at 9:00 a.m. in the morning. Topics have covered various aspects. It will help us to enhance our professional ability. Please note that members participate in academic seminars may receive credits which could be used as one of the criteria reference for the future evaluation. We hope all of you can take part in this Forum. Participants of this forum will receive 20 academic credits. The contents of lectures are listed on the attached sheet.

Important Notice

The present constitution of our association was enacted 14 years ago when the Association found. It has been a very good guideline to the work and development since the founding of the Association. However, with social and business development, the Association has become a professional body with over 2,000 members. A lot of sections and content of the original constitution are incompatible now. Therefore, an enlarged meeting of the Executive Committee has decided to make a more systematic amendment to the existing constitution in accordance with the Canadian law and the actual situation of the Association work; So that the Association work can better serve the general members during the time of the legislation for regulating. To this end, the Executive Committee has appointed Mr. Zhihua YANG, director of the Disciplined Committee to be the leader of the constitution amendment team. The work has been started already.

HKMB reviews the Insurance Program regularly and negotiate with the insurers to enhance the program to facilitate the needs of our Members.

Academic Paper Submission

The 3rd International Congress of Traditional Medicine will be held on September 20-22, 2006 in Toronto, Canada. The Congress will be co-sponsored by World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and The Canadian Society of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. There will be an Award Presentation for Best Paper Presentation and Best Health Products during the Congress Closing Banquet.
