The 3rd International Congress of Traditional Medicine will be held on September 20-22, 2006 in Toronto, Canada. The Congress will be co-sponsored by World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies and The Canadian Society of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Participants will share information from world class experts on the most recent advances in the research and clinical experiences of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Chinese Health Officials and Regulatory Board in Chinese Medicine; Canadian Federal Government Officials and the Health Minister have been invited to attend. There will be displays and exhibitions on Chinese medicine and healthcare products and equipment, whereby participants may become familiar with the new products. Over 1000 practitioners and experts in Chinese medicine and acupuncture from more than 100 countries will attend the congress. There will be an Award Presentation for Best Paper Presentation and Best Health Products during the Congress Closing Banquet.

The Congress will use Chinese and English as official languages. There will be plenary and concurrent reporting/sharing.

The Congress sponsor, World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies is an international organization formed by a group of Chinese Medicine professional bodies around the world with a mutual mission in promoting cross-nation academic exchange and technical cooperation in the development of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. Another sponsor, The Canadian Society of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture is an organization formed by the Canadian Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture practitioners with membership of more than 1,600. The organization has been successful in hosting international conferences in Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture and has had experience of organizing large meetings. The city of Toronto will be the third city, after Paris and Beijing, to host this international congress of traditional medicine.

Toronto has around 4.7 millions residents, among which are over five hundred thousand oversee Chinese people. As one of the largest and the most cosmopolitan cities and the largest financial centre in Canada, Toronto is one of the largest residing city of Chinese medicine practitioners and one of the largest terminal markets of Chinese medicine in the America. It can be easily accessed from the largest cities in the America such as Ottawa, Montreal, Quebec, New York, and Chicago within 1000 kilometers. As a safe and peaceful country, Canada provides a simple procedure for applicants to get their visas that will attractive more people to attend the conference. Depending on the experience from the previous international meetings, CSCMA can provide a lot assistant in attendants?? visa application.

All the members of The Canadian Society of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture welcome colleagues from around the world to come visit Toronto, just in time to admire the beautiful Canadian fall colors and to enjoy the clear blue sky of our comfortable autumn weather. While sharing and updating information from the congress, you may, at the same occasion, visit the beautiful scenery around Lake Ontario, especially the magnificent Niagara Falls, which is one of the seven wonders of the world.
